This rotund raku vase is muted blue and browns. The colors appear to interrupt each other with streaks or fluid lines. The pot form is symmetrical, wider on shoulders than the foot. The top has a round opening and small lip. Incised on the bottom of the vessel is the following: "Marven / Capshaw / 1995."

"Cro-Magnon Buffalo Soldier" is a raku vessel created by Bill Capshaw. The vessel is spherical in shape, like a stout vase. The vessel features four faces with protruding features along the exterior. Each face includes defined eyebrows, noses, and lips. There are mountainous, organic motifs that encircle the exterior of the vessel along the rounded top (below the lip) and bottom (above the base).
