Description |
This is a quilted wall hanging, or tapestry, that depicts a mountainous landscape at twilight. The quilt is 68.5 x 79 inches, allowing the details in each of the blocks to stand out. Using primarily deep and cool hues arranged in patterned fabrics, this piece consists of various shades of blues, purples, reds, and yellows. There is machine embroidery on the front lower right-hand corner that reads: "Center for Appalachian Studies and Services." A patch on the back on the quilt reads: "Center for Appalachian Studies and Services/ETSU Designed & Created by: Wynne Stewart Quilted by: Rita Sheally Fabric Donated by: Polly Taylor, TENN. Quilts July 5, 1996" |
