Description |
This bronze bas-relief sculpture depicts the profile of masculine figure from the shoulders up. The figure wears an ornate breastplate and helmet. The helmet is winged at the back, and across the length of the tip are draconic figures. On the breastplate is a winged figure at the front of his chest, and another draconic creature going over his shoulder. This figure is most likely Perseus, a hero of Greek myth, who slayed the gorgon Medusa and is often depicted wearing a winged cap. |
