Description |
This is a copy of the March 1889 edition, Volume XCV (95), of "Peterson's Magazine." The magazine was focused on women and offered recipes, fashion advice, fashion plates, do-it-yourself crafts, news, poetry, and stories. The cover to the magazine is detached. It has flowers and branches along each side and an image of the goddess Athena below. The cover reads as follows: "Peterson's Magazine, March Vol. XCV / terms. / two dollars a -year / invariably in advance / entered as second-class matter at Philadelphia post-office / 1889 / Charles J. Peterson: 306 Chestnut St. Philadelphia." The first page has an advertisement for Colgate & Company's toilet articles, including shaving soap, toilet water, and toilet soap. The back page has advertisements including: trees and roses, Brown's Bronchial Troches, Payson's Ink, Indian Silk Punjums, Hall's Bazar Forms, Rubifoam tooth powder, and Joseph Gillott's Steel Pens. |
