Description |
This embroidered insignia patch is for the 3rd Armored Division of the United States Army during WWII, also known as the "Spearhead" or "Third Herd." The patch would have been worn on the left shoulder. The patch is triangular, split into sections: red, blue, and yellow. There is a "3" embroidered in black for the Third Division in the top yellow section. In the center is a tank track, a cannon, and a bolt of lightning layered on one another. The edge is olive green. A rectangle under the triangle has the 3rd Armored Division's nickname "Spearhead" in black on yellow. |
